if you want a "workstation" that can handle office, surfing and the occasional photoshop, you can get one for around 10k (no monitor)

that's a core2duo processor e22xx series, motherboard, 2 gb ram, casing and an optical drive.

if you want to be able to play with it, you can get the previous top of the line cards (nvidia 7xxx series) for around 5k. i'd recommend the 8800gt though because you can play "any" game with it ~ sells at around 8k. :)

happy hunting!

you have an estimate how much a decent pc (mostly internet and office kind of stuff, at least the next four versions of nba live, and some multimedia - photoshop and very rare video editing) would cost?

my system is turning 5 years old next month and i'm thinking either to upgrade or to get a new one (albeit a cheap new one). current specs at: P4 2.4, 512 pc266 ddr ram, win xp home, no optical drives working, 1 40gb maxtor HD (turning 5 years old as well), 1 160gb seagate HD (3 years old) - both IDE.

thanks :)
