haha. actually, restarting the computer has some advantages as well, but i'd rather not mention as they are several. ok, at least one thing i can say is that from a hibernation, my computer becomes sluggish compared to rebooting where everything appears to be faster.

another thing, it's funny that you guys are annoyed at long reboots. :/ hehe. there are many ways you can make your reboots faster. in fact, it depends on how you optimize your computer often, like take off trash, defragment your drive, weed out dead registry entries and all that stuff, and do some inner settings tweaking on windows. hehe.

pipboy, by any chance, does your windows logon screen bar loops 10 or more times before you actually go to the "windows is starting" screen? hehe.

It's how women give names to just about everything from phones, cars, boys, stuff toys, and other kikay things.

So men can too as long as it doesn't make them gay.

It makes me wonder why people with laptops prefer to give their laptop names. It somewhat sounds like an "electronic pet."

I prefer hibernation as well. I also reached 21 days I think. In comparison, I've kept my desktop (which is on Windows) on for that long as well, without hibernating.

I suppose that's one of the changes I had to work through when I went to Windows XP for the first time 5 years ago: it's a lot more stable and I don't have to reboot on a regular basis anymore.

Still, I stopped being anal about the reboot thing. Esp since Windows gets updates every month or so. If I need to reboot because of updates or because my system is already sluggish I do so.

i believe my longest so far is only about 15 days. i think. it could be longer because the only i have to restart Linux is when i upgrade the kernel. every time else hibernate works.

maybe i should start "not shutting down".
