Hahahaha! Apology not needed. My comment stands applicable :D

While SMEs are already advocating the "limitless opportunities" that a web presence brings, most of them are still too shy with their wallets.

Oh sorry! I meant "you" as the company, not "you" as a person :D. I've had an experience lately wherein one went to a company's website to know about it more and I used that as basis for the comment. Sorry for the confusion

@reiji:

that is true. i still have to look for instances of politicking where adjectiveslike *putrid* aren't included or implied at the same breath.

on another note, the death of RATM was just the birth of another force in the music industry. Basta Chris Cornell, ayos!

@Ealden

read the article.

marketing .ph as a phone top level domain will never work as long as one company controls it. $6 for the popular domains and $35 for the ph domains paint different mathematical figures in terms of ROI. knowing how many greedy *political* mouths that revenues from .ph domains have to feed, i don't see the pricing of ph domains improving anytime soon.

> I imagine a simple online web presence that covers the essentials about you is a nice addition to market yourself.

hahaha, i need and don't need more people like you both at the same time!!!

i need more people who realize that an online presence can be very helpful to their marketing department. let me show you where you have to sign...

i *don't* need such comments coming from overly qualified people like you. man, you can create your own website. ergo, there is simply no need for me ... haha! :D

seriously, the bigger cost of designing websites as a freelancer besides time, effort, professional knowledge and electricity (software licenses, medical insurance, system analysis and design, graphic design, content creation, continuing educational program for the developer, etc) is something that SME clients aren't too giddy to pay for.

I'm not really in the know on the situation with the PH domain name but from what I've surmised i'ts being controlled by a single company and thus the high price.

Said company also planned/plans to market .ph as a TLD for phones but I'm not sure where that is now.

I have a single bookmark on this in my del.icio.us. mparaz and wyu may be able to tell you more about this.

I dunno, getting a web site isn't that expensive right now. Sure, there's a different between a website with one that was done right, but I imagine a simple online web presence that covers the essentials about you is a nice addition to market yourself.

--> (coelho + audioslave)

- I just checked my blog and was suprised by your reaction. I didn't know (or expected) you like Audioslave. OMG.

Anyway,

"Web Presence is not really part of the Information System Plan (or specfically, the budget) in most business plans of brick-and-mortar SMEs here. Where there’s a budget, there’s usually not enough."

- it brings me back to my college days when I'd appointed myself to be the web master of my school's homepage. however, due to persistent politicking from my *putrid* block mates, I chose to walk away from it all hands clean and made me concentrated more with the school paper instead.
